Gilbert T. Rowe Professor of Theological Ethics at Duke Divinity SchoolDurham, North Carolina.Dr. Hauerwas holds a joint appointment in Duke Law School and was named “America’s
Best Theologian” By Time Magazine in 2001.His book, A Community of Character: Toward a
Constructive Social Ethic was selected as one of the 100 most important books
on religion of the 20th century.Professor Hauerwas will be
with us for three
lectures:

WALTER BRUEGGEMANN
Professor Brueggemann was
for many years was The William Marcellus McPheeters Professor of Old Testament from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur,
Georgia.
He has published more than 58 books and hundreds of
articles. “Walter Brueggemann
has devoted his life to a passionate exploration of Old Testament theology,
with an emphasis on the relationship between the Old Testament and the
Christian Canonical works, the origins and history of Christian doctrine, and
the dynamics of Jewish/Christian interactions”.
