Learning Committee

The St. Mark's Learning Committee is focussed on developing a strong emphasis on Learning and Education at St. Mark's.

We believe that through Learning and Education Programs we can effectively enrich and expand our own congregation, provide unique ecumenical learning opportunities for those who live in our community, and reach out to visitors to Niagara-on-the-Lake.

For several years, St. Mark's has sponsored a well attended annual summer event featuring a series of lectures by internationally known theological speakers.  Speakers have included: Matthew Fox, John Dominic Crossan, Marcus Borg, Alan Jones, Sister Joan Chittister, Elaine Pagels, Robert Funk, Elizabeth Schussler-Fiorenza, Martin Marty, Professor Walter Bruggemann and Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf.

Our 2011 Speaker is John Dominic Crossan on October 14, 15th 2011.  More details to follow closer to the time.

The Learning Committee is a strong component of The Addison Centre For Theology and The Arts (ACTA).  For more information on "ACTA" please see under "Music at St. Mark's".
